Set in 30 acres on the Heart Ridge in the Blackdown Hills (AONB) above the historic villages of Luppitt and Upottery, “Swallows Nest” is an ideal base to explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Come and enjoy a unique “green” holiday experience in the lap of luxury. Outside is your own private patio area, with table, chairs and B-B-Q, if required . You have access to the beautiful gardens,where deck chairs and hammock can be provided for those lazy days in the sun. Abundant wild life can be seen in the 15 acre woodland.This has been designated a Devon “county Wildlife site”, because of the rare flora and fauna that can be found there. The remaining 15 acres of organic pasture, include an orchard, where a forest garden is being created to supply organic fruit and vegetables throughout the seasons. There are plenty of walks or you could borrow bikes and explore the Heart Ridge or Luppitt Villiage which is a gem reminicent of a bygone age. A choice of seaside destinations on the Jurrassic Coast can be reached in 30 minutes or so. You could take the challenge of wild swimming in the natural spring fed lake or enjoy star gazing in the clear night skies.There are a range of local activites, attractions and events available, even if the weather is inclement, plus the opportunity to indulge in great local food.
